Mickey Waring served as Westerhoff's Art Director for 20 years, officially "retiring" in 2018, while continuing to teach adult education and various pop up workshops to students of all ages. Mickey also conducts art workshops at the Princeton Arts Council and provides private lessons. A graduate from Princeton University and Beirut University College, she has illustrated for magazines and chapbooks in the United States and abroad. Her work, which includes puppetry and jewelry design, is influenced by a lifetime of travel in Europe and the Middle East. A former member of the Metuchen Cultural Arts Commission and founder of the Writers of Metuchen, Ms. Waring has been a driving force in the arts community of Metuchen for over the past 22 years. Ms. Waring’s recent work includes illustrations and small works on paper in water color, acrylics, oil and gouache. Her current book projects include 'Rathoven’s Tales,' which tell the story about a rat and his friends and family who live in a Music & Art school and 'The Art of Tea,' an illustrated poetry book painted on teabags.
