About this Event
Utah is home to stunning landscapes and natural wonders. Find inspiration in Utah landscape paintings on view at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts and learn the art of needle felting with wool from artist/educator Rachael Lauritzen. This Creative Aging workshop at the UMFA will guide you through the process of creating an 8” x 10” landscape-inspired artwork using needle felting techniques. This workshop is for all skill levels.
All materials provided. This workshop is free for anyone 55+, registration is required. We know things come up, but please plan carefully so we can keep this programming free! Please do not reserve a ticket if you cannot attend.

About the Artist:
Rachael Lauritzen is a fiber artist, writer, community textile arts teacher, and an aspiring urban homesteader with a fondness for hiking, knitting, natural dyes and craft chocolate. She taught practical arts at a local Waldorf charter school for 7 years and has successfully completed sheep shearing school. She has a Masters of Community and Organizational Leadership from Westminster University and is the Executive Director of High Desert Utah Fibershed, a Utah-based Fibershed Affiliate, which supports local regenerative textile economies.
