Nora Guncz | Music Instructor, Choral Conductor, & Singer
Nora grew up in Hungary, where she knew only one way to learn music: the Kodály Approach.
She attained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Performance- Orchestral and Choral Conducting (2012) and Master of Arts degree as Teacher of General Music Studies and School Music Teacher (2015) at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary.
Immediately upon graduating, she started teaching music based on the Kodály concept at the Liszt Institute Hungarian Cultural Centre in Beijing, China. For 8 years, she taught general music and singing lessons to children ages 3-16 years old and worked with multiple children’s and adult’s choirs. She also enjoyed holding many intensive masterclasses and long-term music teacher training programs throughout China.
Currently, Nora is a music instructor at the Canada Kodály Music Centre in Toronto, Ontario, as a scholar (KCSP) supported by the Hungarian government. She has been part of the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, as an alto singer. She aims to share the world-famous Kodály approach and its benefits with Canadians – at all levels – through Kodály-inspired music education.
In her spare time, Nora enjoys hiking, walking in nature, practicing yoga, and engaging in meditation and mindfulness to nurture both her body and her mind.
