About this Event
In Hindu cosmology, darkness is not absence — it is the Mother: the fertile womb from which all creation arises. To learn more about this event, click .
Creation in Darkness is a ceremonial descent into the generative void through ritual cacao, long-form Yoga Nidra, and sound immersion. We begin by opening the heart with cacao, then enter deep stillness—allowing the nervous system to soften and the psyche to rest in the quiet field before form.
This ceremony is not about effort or pushing toward transformation. It is about remembering that creation begins in the dark—in listening, in waiting, in being held.
What we’ll move through
- Cacao Ceremony — a gentle threshold ritual for warmth, presence, and intention. (Cacao is non-psychoactive, and you’re welcome to sip lightly or opt out.)
- Nidra + Breathwork — guided rest and gentle breath-led practices designed for deep relaxation and clarity. No movement required; this is done lying down.
- Sound Bath — a soft, spacious sound immersion supporting integration, nervous system settling, and quiet insight.
Who it’s for
- Anyone craving deep rest, nervous system downshifting, and spacious inner listening
- No experience with yoga, meditation, or ceremony needed
What to bring
Yoga mat, blanket, pillow, eye covering, water bottle—plus anything that helps you stay comfortable lying down. Warm layers are recommended (the body often cools during deep rest).
Cacao contraindications
If you are pregnant, highly sensitive to caffeine/theobromine, on certain heart medications or MAOIs, or have been advised to avoid stimulants, you may choose to skip or sip minimally. Please consult a medical professional if you’re unsure.
Facilitators
- Kryss Dutt — Yoga Teacher (CYT-200 YACEP) & Reiki Practitioner (I), holding the ritual + Nidra space
- Josh Jansen — Sound Healer, leading the sound immersion
