The New Landscape of Compliance Training
Info: This workshop begins with brief introductions from the facilitator and participants, who will share their organization, their role in HR or training, and a challenge they face when creating training content. The session will outline key topics including AI-assisted training development, compliance training design principles, using the MotiveLMS Content Authoring Tool, and creating engaging learning interactions. The workshop will then explore common challenges in traditional compliance training such as limited time to create content, frequent regulatory changes, lack of instructional design expertise, difficulty engaging employees, and managing multiple requirements. Participants will also discuss the compliance topics their organizations train on and identify areas where content development takes the most time, such as harassment prevention, safety training, workplace conduct, data privacy, and equipment operation procedures.
Using AI to Accelerate Training Development
Info: This session explores how AI can support the training development process by helping teams work faster and generate ideas more efficiently. Participants will learn how AI tools can assist with tasks such as creating course outlines, writing training scripts, developing learning objectives, building workplace scenarios, generating quiz questions, producing visual assets, and drafting summaries of policies and procedures. The session will also emphasize important considerations, including the need for human review, the importance of subject matter expertise, and verifying compliance-related content for accuracy. Participants will then take part in a hands-on exercise where small groups select a compliance topic—such as workplace harassment prevention, safety reporting procedures, data security awareness, or customer service standards—and use AI tools to generate learning objectives, a short training script, and a scenario-based question before sharing their results.

Building Training with the MotiveLMS Content Authoring Tool
Info: This session introduces the MotiveLMS Content Authoring Tool (CAT) and demonstrates how it enables efficient creation of structured, engaging training content. Participants will explore key features including structured lesson creation, mobile-friendly design, interactive elements, knowledge checks, multimedia integration, and full SCORM/LMS compatibility. The session also covers the standard lesson structure used in Motive CAT—introduction, key concept explanation, example or scenario, knowledge check, and summary—to ensure clear and effective learning experiences. In a hands-on activity, participants will apply what they’ve learned by creating a mini lesson that includes a title, learning objective, instructional content page, interactive knowledge check, and summary statement, followed by sharing their designs with the group.
Designing Engaging Compliance Training
Info: This session explores instructional design best practices that help improve engagement in workplace training. Participants will review strategies such as microlearning, scenario-based learning, interactive questions, visual storytelling, short video segments, and the use of real workplace examples to make compliance training more effective and memorable. The discussion will also highlight common compliance training mistakes, including overly long modules, excessive policy language, lack of interaction, and the absence of real-world scenarios. In the activity portion, participants will take a sample workplace policy paragraph and transform it into a practical training component by creating a learning objective, a short training explanation, and a scenario-based question. The exercise demonstrates how converting policy into interactive learning can significantly improve learner understanding and engagement.
Building a Sustainable Training Development Workflow
Info: This session explores how HR and training teams can effectively integrate AI tools into their training development workflow to save time while maintaining quality and accuracy. The discussion walks through a practical example process: identifying a training need, using AI to draft initial learning content, validating that content with subject matter experts, building structured lessons in the MotiveLMS Content Authoring Tool (CAT), delivering the training through an LMS, and tracking completion and performance metrics. The session concludes with a final Q&A and key takeaways to help teams confidently implement AI-supported training development in their organizations.
