Ever wondered how your favourite story characters come to life?
Brenton will show you how it’s done—starting with basic shapes and warm-up drawings, then transforming them into unique heroes with feelings, quirks and backstories. You’ll even see how a single scribble can spark an entire story!
Then it’s your turn!
Follow along step-by-step as you create your own original character—deciding who they are, what they love, and the world they belong in.

Brenton McKenna is a First Nations storyteller and illustrator known for his vibrant, humorous and imaginative characters. His work shows just how powerful a simple idea can be when creativity takes over.
