Creating an Edible Landscape / Crear Un Paisaje con Plantas Comestibles

East Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District is excited to partner with the Outgrowing Hunger to present a Creating an Edible Landscape workshop!

This workshop will give you insight and tools for incorporating edible plants into your landscape. From annual veggies and herbs to perennial berries and fruit trees, we’ll discuss design tips, ways to build fertile soil, and how to conserve water while producing a harvest. You will also learn about native plants that feature edible fruit and nuts, and how to invite beneficial insects to your garden. You’ll walk away ready to assess your site and make a plan for a beautiful (and delicious) landscape!

Accessibility Notes

• Water: We recommend participants bringing a reusable water bottle to reduce single use plastic.
• Snacks: Light snacks are available, including gluten-free and vegan options.

• Interaction level: Low. This is a presentation-style workshop with a presenter sharing the majority of the information. There are opportunities for participants to ask questions throughout the presentation. Participation is optional.

East Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District se complace en asociarse Outgrowing Hunger para presentar un taller de crear un paisaje con plantas comestibles.

Este taller le brindará información y herramientas para incorporar plantas comestibles en su jardín. Desde verduras y hierbas anuales hasta bayas perennes y árboles frutales, discutiremos consejos de diseño, formas de construir un suelo fértil y cómo conservar agua mientras se produce una cosecha. También aprenderá acerca de las plantas nativas que tienen frutos y nueces comestibles, y cómo invitar insectos benéficos a su jardín. ¡Saldrá listo para evaluar su sitio y hacer un plan para un paisaje hermoso (y delicioso)!
