Discover God's Goodness in Movement, Play, Emotions, Nature, and Community
About this Event

Join us at the Haley Farm Inn and Retreat Center in Oakland, MD for a weekend haven. Located in a nature rich and peaceful retreat center, you will have access to a team crafted just for you. We will have a licensed therapist, registered dietitian, and certified personal trainer on hand to be a support and encouragement. We are inviting a small group of 5-10 women to explore their relationship with their bodies, thoughts, and emotions in relation to how God has designed them. We believe that God is the source of all goodness, but often we relegate our relationship with Him to spiritual disciplines, church activities, and intellectual concepts. Our hope is to help you expand the definition of what God calls good - to find joy in body, mind, and soul as we experience God's multifaceted creativity. We will create space for processing through movement, prayer, interactive small groups, teaching/coaching, writing reflections, and guided nature walks. During this time, we want to encourage curiosity and exploring different choices, giving you the space to challenge yourself to try something new and practice listening to what your body needs.

Meet your Facilitators!

Julia Oliver, RD: Julia is a ‘non-diet’ dietitian and SmartFLOW® yoga teacher, and she has spent her career guiding individuals to heal their relationship with food and movement by providing an alternative to the pervasive messages of diet and fitness culture. Julia is currently an eating disorder nutrition therapist, and she leads meditation, mindfulness, and yoga classes for individuals navigating recovery (and for anyone seeking a deeper sense of embodiment). Julia believes that God created us to eat intuitively and move in a way that honors our body’s unique needs and limitations.
Julia grew up around more cows than people outside of Roanoke, VA, and you could often find her and her family mushroom hunting or hiking the nearby Appalachian Trail. Her childhood engrained a deep appreciation for nature, and Julia is always trying to find ways to share her love of God's creation. Now with her husband in Rockville, MD, Julia's favorite activities include making homemade pasta and traveling to find untouched snow!

Pamela Lotinsky, CPT: Pami is a Certified Personal Trainer with a passion for helping others discover the benefits of movement and health. As a former athlete, coach, and mom, Pami brings a unique perspective to her training sessions. She believes that fitness is not just about exercise, but about embracing a lifestlye of play and joy. With her expertise and experience, Pami strives to inspire her clients to reach their fitness goals while enjoying the process. She is a mom of four (including surprise twins!), loves to try new sports and instruments, and moved from Mexico to Maryland fifteen years ago.

Jessica Shen, LCSW-C: Jess is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who has over 10 years of experience working with families. She is passionate about understanding each person as an individual created to reflect God in a unique way. She sees therapy as a space to help people find their own voice and learn tools to sort through the brokenness of this world with gentleness and hope. Jess is a life-long learner, and you can find her adding books to her Amazon cart, playing with her dog, and saying yes to coffee.
