Create Your Own Laser-Cut Christmas Ornaments

About this Event

Join Maidstone Hackspace for a festive, hands-on workshop where you will design and create your own set of laser-cut wooden Christmas ornaments.

Choose from traditional festive designs or personalise your decorations with names, messages, dates or your own creative ideas.

We will show you how to find or create suitable artwork, prepare it for laser cutting and turn it into finished wooden ornaments.

Your ornaments can be used on your own Christmas tree or given as personalised handmade gifts.

No previous design, laser-cutting or making experience is required.

What you will do

During the workshop, you will:

• choose or create your Christmas ornament designs;
• learn how graphics are prepared for laser cutting and engraving;
• personalise your ornaments with names, dates or messages;
• position your designs within the ornament templates;
• see your designs produced using the laser cutter;
• add decorative finishing touches; and
• take home your completed set of Christmas ornaments.

What is included

Each ticket includes:

• materials for up to four wooden Christmas ornaments;
• use of the laser cutter and workshop equipment;
• support preparing and personalising your designs;
• decorative materials; and
• all completed ornaments to take home.

About Maidstone Hackspace

Maidstone Hackspace is a community workshop where people can learn, share skills and work together on creative, technical and practical projects.

Our activities include laser cutting, 3D printing, electronics, robotics, coding, crafts and digital making.

You do not need to be a Maidstone Hackspace member to attend.

Booking and cancellations

Places are limited, so advance booking is required.

Please let us know as early as possible if you are unable to attend. Refunds and transfers will be managed in accordance with the policy shown on the Eventbrite booking page.

Maidstone Hackspace may postpone or cancel the workshop if minimum attendance is not reached or circumstances outside our control prevent it from taking place.
