Family friendly morning workshop with local artist Rebecca Maynard
Join expert tutor and sculptor Rebecca in Coopers Barn in Hurstbourne Tarrant for this family friendly morning workshop. Rebecca has 20 years experience teaching clay sculpture to both adults and children and will slowly guide you through a step-by-step process to create your own clay terracotta owl using a variety of tools and stencils.You can then add your own design and decoration to give your owl its own unique character. Your finished work will then be fired in Rebecca's kiln, ready for collection from her Upton studio ( SP11 0JH) within 2 weeks.
-A relaxed and friendly introduction to hand building with clay
-Suitable for beginners
-suitable for children 6+ with adult support
-1.30pm-4.30pm
-£65 which includes all materials, firing costs and booking fee.
The Barn is a spacious, rustic beamed building which makes for a wonderful creative space. It is on the Andover Newbury road (A343) in the village of Hurstbourne Tarrant.
What to bring
During the colder months the fire will be lit and The Barn gets toasty and warm. However, it can be cool first thing in the morning so bring extra layers just in case. Also bring along an apron as you may get messy.
Tea and coffee available throughout the morning.
