For the first time in two years, CRAP MUSIC RAVE PARTY is coming back to Smiths! So start planning your requests… just remember: the worse the song, the better.Hosted by anarchic comedy DJ Tomás Ford, this is the gloriously stupid cult rave that has torn through festivals like Edinburgh Fringe and left wreckage across Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Tomás doesn’t just DJ, he throws himself into a mess of chaotic dance moves, frantic lip-syncing, frantic costume changes, and questionable lighting decisions. It’s equal parts rave, game show, cabaret and fever dream.
Canberra knows how wild these nights get - Smith’s Alternative has been the site of some of the most unhinged CRAP RAVES on record. After a couple of years away from DJ decks, Tomás is jumping back in exactly where he belongs: the stage he nearly broke the last time.
If you’re wondering what kinda music, it’s really anything that’s awful, so long as it can be danced or at least sung along to.
