About this Event
Cranial operating can be a daunting task for a Neurosurgical Registrar, with so many vital structures in the brain this is understandable. With effective training and hands-on cadaveric work, you will be more confident in your ability and technique.
This course aims to build your knowledge of cranial approaches, familiarise yourself with key anatomic structures and experience the different instruments used in neurosurgery today and in the future.
The two-day course will consist of interactive cadaveric work and expert guidance, providing trainees with hands on experience of drilling and the microsurgical skills needed in cranial approaches.
An expert course faculty will be on hand to provide overviews and assist in the interactive elements, ensuring a constructive dialogue between consultant and trainee.
Content will include:
▌The detailed anatomical basis of cranial approaches
▌Hands-on cadaveric operating
▌Top tips and how to do well
▌Instrument and microscope familiarisation
COURSE AIMS
The course is aimed at trainees (ST4 - ST8), providing the relevant knowledge and skills to adequately manage cranial approaches and ultimately help improve patient care.
