This two-hour adventure in a lesser-known part of the property has it all…A stroll through the beautifully manicured gardens of the Great House; A hike down the Woodland Trail leading to Steep Hill Beach; A walk along the Crane Estate’s “other beach” where, if the tide is right, you’ll glimpse the remains of a 100+ year old shipwreck; A hike through sand dunes overlooking the mouth of the Ipswich River and the southern tip of Plum Island
Best of all, you’ll wrap up your adventure with a hike along the Cedar Point Trail at sunset, ending your journey next to a glowing firepit, overlooking the tidal estuary of Fox Creek as it meanders through a supremely beautiful stretch of The Great Marsh—New England’s largest salt marsh.
