Craig House Opens at Monmouth Battlefield State Park

The Craig House will be open on Sundays from 1-4 PM beginning on April 7, 2024 through December 1, 2024. During your visit, our docent will share with you the history of this 18th century farm and the Craigs themselves.

The earliest part of the Craig House was built in 1746 and enlarged in the 1770's. The Craig House barn dates to about 1840 and is probably built on the site of the earlier barn, which was most likely used as a hospital during and after the Battle of Monmouth. In 1965, the State of New Jersey purchased the property and, with the help of the Friends of Monmouth Battlefield, have since restored the house and barn.
