What? - Board Game Convention
When? - Saturday 1st - Sunday 2nd August
Where? - St. Patrick's College, Ballymena
What's the Craic?
CraiCon is a weekend dedicated to tabletop based fun with a particular focus upon the world of board gaming. Whether you're an experienced gamer or someone completely new to the hobby, CraiCon welcomes everyone with an interest in gathering around a table and having the craic.
What to Expect:
Large Open Gaming Zone (Gym) Access to our library of board games to play in the large Open Gaming Zone in the school's Gym.
Dedicated Gaming Spaces (Gym and Classrooms) We are offering dedicated spaces for Magic the Gathering, Blood on the Clocktower and TTRPG's in adjoining classrooms to the school Gym.
Family Gaming From 10am until 4pm on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd August there will be opportunities for family gaming with a dedicated library of games available to play. Please Note: Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Getting There
Where is St. Patrick's College?
The address is Broughshane Rd Ballymena BT43 7DZ. There are two gates, please enter via the lower entrance, it's the one closest to the Ecos Centre roundabout.
Driving: Where can I Park?
You can park in the school's lower car park.
How Can I get there using Public Transport?
Train: Ballymena Train Station
Walking from the Train Station will take approximately 25 minutes. Alternatively you may catch the 128 or 128b buses to Broughshane which stop outside the school.
Bus: Ballymena Bus Station
Take either the 128 or 128b to Broughshane which stop outside the school.
Taxi:
E-Cabs: 028 2565 2200
Is the Event Wheelchair Accessible?
Yes the event is fully accessible with a wheelchair.
Catering
Tuck Shop A tuck shop with sweets, drinks and snacks will be available for purchase.
Takeaways There are a number of local takeaways in Ballymena that would be happy to deliver to the venue. Menus will be available in the Gym.
Nearest Shop The nearest shops are the Spar on the Fry's Road or the Asda Express on Broughshane Street. Ballymena town centre is about a 15 minute walk or a two minute drive away.
Coffee/Tea There will be a kettle available with coffee, tea and milk. We would ask for a small donation to charity for hot drinks.
General Guidelines for food and drink Please feel free to bring you own food and drink as well. We ask that all food and drink is kept away from the board games to prevent damages from spillages.
Expectations
Who is this Event for? This event is for anyone with an interest in board gaming, we welcome everyone regardless of experience level.
What to Expect? Lots of tables in a big hall ready for board gaming, enthusiastic board gamers and a welcoming atmosphere.
How will the Open Gaming Zone Work? Players are welcome to organise to play particular games before the event but our focus is on open gaming. There will be an organised games library available to use and we ask attendees to welcome others to their tables and make use of 'Players Wanted' and 'Help Needed' to facilitate organisation during the event. There will be plenty of volunteers and fellow gamers on hand who will be happy to teach you the rules.
How will TTRPG's, Blood on the Clocktower and Magic the Gathering Work? For TTRPG's, Blood on the Clocktower and Magic the Gathering there will be more organised play with specific timeslots / bookings available, these will be released closer to the time.
Code of Conduct CraiCon aims to be a friendly, welcoming event for all, to help ensure this we ask all attendees to agree to our Code of Conduct. We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone who violates our Code of Conduct. When you purchase tickets you will be asked to agree with our Code of Conduct.
Who are we? CraiCon is made up of a team of volunteers, a number of whom are members of the Ballymena Board Game Meetup. This will be our first year running this event and our primary aim is to create a welcoming and fun environment in which to play board games. We are not running the event for profit and once our costs are covered all other proceeds will go to charity. Check out our meetup page to get a feeling for the group:

Based in Ballymoney, we work throughout Causeway Coast & Glens and Mid & East Antrim with premises in Ballymoney, Ballymena and Coleraine.
