About this Event
The Craft Coven Convention is Philadelphia’s first weekend long educational makerspace for crafters and newbies alike. Taking place at Fleisher Art Memorial: a 127 year old non profit community arts school, this event is run by Cassie Jones of The Craft Coven. This year we're also celebrating our 10 year Anniversary and raising funds for us to continue our efforts for many years to come :-)
The Craft Coven began 10 years ago as a facebook group created out of a growing community need for access to creative experiences. Creator Cassie Jones starting hosting events in her home basement, inviting strangers to join in making low cost crafts and friendships. Now 10 years strong, we'd love to celebrate by inviting anyone and everyone out to an evening of performances, interactivity, and general debauchery.

Anniversary Celebration Performance:
Help us raise funds to keep our events going, and our old city space intact!
This late night party is at 4th and Bainbridge in South Philly. Exact address will be sent to ticketholders. Hosted by local comedian and craft artist Rose Luardo we'll have an evening full of acts, arts, and participatory weirdness for your viewing pleasure.
Come dressed for the theme and enter yourself in our Witches promenade costume contest.
All funds raised will go directly towards paying The Coven's Studio rent for this upcoming year.
Saturday, October 17th: 1-4pm
Virtual Celebration:
The second day of our convention will be a virtual craft along session streamed live from our old city studio. We'll have a free Flip Book Tutorial download, and we will make books together :-D
Local writer and enthusiast of all things old- Victorianna Dan will lead us in a letter writing workshop.
You may remember her as the one who dishes out those fun cocktails each First Friday: Jackie Nevin will share a cocktail recipe for you to make alongside her virtual demonstration.
Upgraded Supporter Tickets ONLY will be invited to join us in the studio, everyone else has to tune in from afarrrr

Sunday, October 18th: 12-5pm
Fleisher Convention Day:
For the main event we will takeover the Fleisher building in South Philadelphia with activities, a 12-5pm Vendor Market, specialty baked treats, craft demonstrations and generally just a good time.
Workshops included in your tickets will be drop-in and available throughout the day from 1-4pm:
Clay Play: Open clay crafting with guided project suggestions for Your own Fired Clay Piece
Stained Glass: Make a pendant with stained glass techniques and solder
Drink and Draw: Nude Drawing with rotating models and a themed backdrop. Beer provided by Philadelphia Brewing while supplies last
Gab and Glue: A plethora of collage supplies including specialty glues, holographic papers, and hand picked magazine clippings available for all
Poetry and Writing: Writing prompts, an inspiring environment, and lots and lots of lined paper!
DIY Lithograph activity with artist Cake Decorating Demonstration by Sweet Symphony Cakes
Also on Sunday, enter Fleisher's Sanctuary space to shop the Coven Marketplace of local handmade vendors, artists, and witchy happenings.

The best attendees to this convention are attending hoping to meet new friends, learn about some new artforms, and celebrate their love of all things Fall. Organizers, attendees and vendors are queer, bipoc, disabled, trans, allies, and made up of the neighborhood around you.
