Located in the Appalachian Mountains, Greenbrier State Park is a multi-use park providing many kinds of recreation. The 42-acre man-made freshwater lake and white sandy beach draw many visitors who enjoy swimming, canoeing, boating and fishing. A visitor center is open year-round and features information on the South Mountain Recreation Area and a small gift shop.
Grilling at Greenbrier State Park ispermitted in designated picnic areas and within the campground, with fires restricted to provided fire rings or grills. Visitors must keep fires under control, extinguish them completely before leaving, and properly dispose of coals. Grilling is not allowed on the beach
Alcohol is prohibited throughout the park. Pets are permitted only in specific camping loops (Cedar/Dogwood) and certain trails, not in the main day-use beach area. The park is "trash-free," requiring visitors to take their trash with them.
Summer fees are $3-$5 per person ($3 weekday, $5 weekend), while off-season is $3 per vehicle. Out-of-state residents pay an additional $2
Greenbrier State Park offers an accessible visitor center, picnic areas and some campsites. A beach wheelchair is also available. For additional accessible amenities in Maryland State Forests and Parks, visit the Accessibility For All section of this website.
