DAYS AND TIMES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
On January 8, Kim Handy Jones is heading back to court to fight for justice for her son, Cordale Handy, who was killed by St. Paul police on March 15, 2017.
In July 2023, a federal jury found Officer Nathaniel Younce liable for Cordale’s death and awarded Kim and her family $10 million in compensatory damages and $1.5 million in punitive damages. However, Judge David Doty used a remittitur to reduce these damages, claiming the $10 million award for a Black man’s life “shocked the conscience.” Now, Kim must return to court to fight for the rightful damages she and her family deserve.
It is absolutely crucial for people to show up in person to support Kim at this trial. Your presence in the courtroom sends a powerful message that the community is standing with her and demanding justice.
If you can’t be there in person, you can still support by donating to the Cordale Q. Handy In Remembrance of Me Foundation. Founded by Kim in honor of her son, the foundation:
• Provides headstones for grieving families
• Supports parents who’ve lost children to police and community violence
• Honors the memory of children gone too soon
• Fights for justice for impacted families
