Course 1 - Lands and Consultation Overview and Update: Developing your Protocol and Traditional Knowledge Protections

Strengthen your understanding of the law and policy frameworks that underpin the Duty to Consult. Delivered by the Lands and Consultation Hub at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law (Common Law Section), exercises in this course will focus on developing Consultation Protocol language as well as best practices and protections related to traditional knowledge, language, and cultural issues.
This course is the first in a series of four. It can be taken alone, or can be combined with the other three courses to obtain The Professional Certificate in Indigenous Consultation and Legal Duties.
This course will offer both substantive hours and EDI hours for the Law Society of Ontario.
