Years ago, there was a place here for support in RI that focused JUST on parents that lost their children~ Helping Parents Heal organization. I am happy to share that once again, you will have the support. Please read the bio below. I will leave this information pinned on my page so it is always available and easy to find.
Please meet Regina and please read her story. She is an amazing woman
"After the passing of my only child, Jonathan, at the age of 23, my life was forever changed in countless ways. It has been six years but feels like yesterday. Like so many parents with children who have passed, I found myself searching for a connection, healing and understanding. I believe Jonathan gently guided me to Helping Parents Heal and inspired my path toward helping others.
The signs and dreams he sent filled me with overwhelming love. Looking back, I believe he was preparing me for the next devastating loss-my husband, Jon, my best friend of 36 years, who transitioned 2 years ago.
The passing of my boys changed my life forever. Through my grief I felt even a stronger calling to help others. This led me to become a Certified Grief educator through a David Kessler course. Inspired to do more, I continued my studies at Omega Institute to become a Certified end-of-life doula.
Healing does not mean forgetting. It means learning how to carry our love forward in a new way.
My intention is to create a supportive and compassionate space where parents can share their stories, feel less alone on their journey and be surrounded by love. I am honored to be the Affiliate leader for the Rhode Island chapter of Helping Parents Heal. "

Meetings will be 3rd Saturday of each month from 10:00-11:30 am. Held at Warwick Central Libra,
600 Sandy Ln, Warwick, RI 02889. In the small meeting room.
First meeting will be on June 20.
