About this Event
Couples Connection Weekend – Nashville
March 21 - March 22, 2026 Led by Dr. Jennifer Castner, LPC-MHSP and Angelique Howington Works, Owner & LPC-MHSP
Two days. 10 AM to 4 PM. One hour lunch each day. $1,000 per couple Limited spots. Both partners must attend both days.
If you’re reading this, chances are things feel heavier than you expected. You’ve tried talking, shutting down, avoiding, pushing through. None of it is working the way you hoped. You’re worried about where this is headed, and you’re done waiting for things to magically fix themselves.
This weekend is for couples who want to understand why they keep getting stuck and finally create the change they’ve been aching for.
What you’ll walk away with
- A better understanding of your relationship patterns
- Clarity on the factors driving your reactivity to your partner
- Communication skills that actually increase unity instead of adding fuel
- Regulation skills for yourself and as a couple
- A deeper understanding of your partner and their “stuff” without minimizing your own
- A clear sense of next steps and how to move forward together
Who this is for
This weekend is a good fit if you:
- Have quietly thought about divorce but haven’t said the word out loud
- Are dealing with mild to moderate conflict or dissatisfaction
- Feel disconnected and don’t know how to get back to each other
- Are stuck in the same arguments and want a different outcome
- Need structured guidance, not another conversation that goes nowhere
- Still care about each other and want to try
If you’ve been wishing someone would tell you what’s actually going wrong and how to fix it, that’s exactly what we do.
What the weekend looks like
Saturday | 10 AM to 4 PM
We start by unpacking your relationship patterns in a way that’s honest, compassionate, and grounded. Nothing shaming. Nothing sugar-coated. You’ll learn:
- Why you get triggered the way you do
- How your histories collide in conflict
- What your nervous system is doing when you “lose it”
- The cycle you keep repeating and how to interrupt it
Then you’ll move through guided writing exercises, structured partner dialogues, and private breakout work designed to help you see each other clearly without spiraling. We break for a one hour lunch. By the end of day one, you’ll understand your dynamic in a way that finally makes sense.
Sunday | 10 AM to 4 PM
Sunday is all about change and connection. You’ll learn:
- Communication skills that reduce defensiveness and increase understanding
- How to break the old patterns instead of reenacting them
- Tools to regulate yourself in the moment so conflict doesn’t escalate
- How to co-regulate as a couple
- How to talk about hard things without shutting down or blowing up
- How to rebuild closeness intentionally
You’ll spend time practicing the communication skills privately as a couple with real support from us. Not role-playing in front of strangers. Real steps. Real work.We break for a one hour lunch again. We end the weekend with a written plan for how to move forward as a team.
If you’re tired of feeling stuck, this is your turning point
Most couples don’t need a year of therapy to feel better. They need clarity, structure, and someone who can cut through the noise and help them understand each other again.
If that’s what you’re craving, save your spot.
There are limited seats because we keep this intimate, focused, and high impact.
What to Expect From the Group Format
You’re not doing this weekend alone. You’ll be learning alongside other couples who are showing up for the same reason you are: things feel hard, the distance feels scary, and they want change just as much as you do.
This weekend functions as a group, which means you’ll hear things from other couples that might feel familiar. You’ll realize you aren’t the only ones stuck in cycles that make no sense on the outside. That alone brings a lot of relief.
But here’s the part that matters.
You are never required to share anything you don’t want to share.
The group simply gives you a space to learn, breathe, feel supported, and realize you’re not the only ones trying to rebuild something important. Your private couple exercises stay private. No one else listens in, no one gives “advice,” and you’re never put on the spot.
To keep the space safe and productive, we follow clear group agreements:
Group Rules
- Confidentiality. What’s shared in the room stays in the room.
- Respect. No blaming, name-calling, sarcasm, or attacking.
- Equal voice. No speaking over your partner or another couple.
- Curiosity over judgment. Everyone is here to grow, not compete.
- Participation. Show up, be present, and give this weekend your best effort.
- No rescuing or advising others. You can be supportive without stepping into therapist mode.
You’ll talk about what you’re learning, what you’re realizing, and where you want things to go. Everyone grows faster when they realize they’re not doing this in a vacuum.
By the end of the weekend, most couples say the group was one of the most powerful parts, because it let them feel understood, normal, and not alone in their struggle.
