Roanoke City Council is pursuing three important Council Member Initiatives, which are high-priority projects for the City's elected officials.In January 2026, the City of Roanoke will hold a series of public meetings for three of these initiatives, including review of the 2024 Zoning Text Amendments, the Evans Spring Plan, and a new Vape Shop Ordinance. Beyond the Council Member Initiatives, additional text amendments will be discussed.
These open-house style meetings will have stations staffed by members of the Planning Department that you can talk to for each initiative. Residents can attend any meeting, drop in at any time, and stay for as long as they like.
The City will have information available and will collect feedback.
