About this Event

Join us for a special film screening in Ghent on July 1st! The EEB will be screening "The Cost of Growth". This compelling documentary connects local struggles against extractivism in Serbia, Italy and Sapmi with wider debates on justice, democracy and war.
Through powerful storytelling, The Cost of Growth shows how people across Europe are not only resisting false solutions, but also building alternatives - from grassroots organising to new forms of cooperation and solidarity.
Q&A and discussion

The screening will be followed by a discussion featuring:

• Diego Francesco Marin (European Environmental Bureau, featured in the documentary)
• Anuna De Wever (climate activist and co-founder of Youth for Climate Belgium)

The event is organised in the context of the 2026 Conference of the European Society for Ecological Economics (ESEE2026) and is open to conference participants.
