Open House
9:30–10:00 | Welcome & Meet the Dancers
Doors open. Meet our dancers and teachers, find out about South Asian dance and music, and have a chance to chat before the session begins.
10:00–10:45 | Discover Bharatanatyam
Join an open, multilevel introduction to Bharatanatyam Indian Classical Dance — a South Indian classical dance form combining rhythm, movement, expression and storytelling. Experience the class alongside our students, accompanied by live music.
10:45–11:30 | Performances
Sit back and enjoy a selection of short Bharatanatyam performances, including work by our more advanced students.
11:30–12:00 | Meet, Mingle & Ask Questions
Stay for a chat, meet our dancers and teachers, ask questions about variety of South Asian dance form, music and culture.
No previous experience is needed and there is no pressure to join a class or sign up for anything. Come for the whole session or simply drop in, watch, listen and experience.
This event is free of charge.
This event is supported by the City of Edinburgh Council & Fair Saturday Edinburgh Community Engagement Fund
