Cosanti Originals Introduces New Specialty Tour Experiences and Events Throughout FEBRUARY

With the new year comes new experiences and opportunities at Cosanti Originals in Paradise Valley. Cosanti has expanded its regular guided tour schedule to include additional dates and times and introduced two new specialty tour experiences — Principles of Design and Architectural Insights.

Principles of Design is an interactive tour with guided conversation and discussion regarding the provoking, functional and engaging art throughout Cosanti. Architectural Insights focuses on the architectural details not typically discussed on the regular daily tours and the history that built Cosanti as a whole — including how the bell craft shaped the architecture of its buildings and the technical earth cast experiments done on a majority of Cosanti’s structures.

These tours are led by Sophie Rabb, a member of The Cosanti Foundation, who served as the guest services manager at Arcosanti, Cosanti’s sister property, since 2022. In 2025, Rabb joined Cosanti as a tour guide.

Specialty tours are held every other Sunday from 2 to 3:30 p.m.; additional dates can be booked upon request. The cost is $40++ per guest.

Guided tours are available for booking Monday through Saturday with two time slots — 10:15 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. — and on Sunday at 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. Guided tours are led by Cosanti’s Outreach and Development Ambassador Dakota Peterson, a longtime member of the Cosanti foundry.

The cost is $30++ for adult admission and $15++ for students (with a valid school ID). Teens and children 18 years of age and younger are $10++ each.

Beyond tours, Cosanti offers two new hands-on workshops and experiences that immerse participants in various techniques of the artisan craftsmanship of Cosanti. These include Tile Making 1: Design and Tile Making 2: Glaze.

On Friday, Feb. 6 at 9 a.m., guests can experience Tile Making 1: Design, a course that allows participants to develop their own designs to impress onto a tile. Guests will learn the techniques of shaping and designing clay while experimenting with the importance of tool shapes, layering and composition to create two or four circular tiles. This experience includes a guided tour of Cosanti. The cost is $145++ per participant for two tiles or $245++ per participant for four tiles.

Then on Friday, Feb. 20 at 9 a.m., the Tile Making 2: Glaze workshop takes place at Cosanti. This experience guides participants through choosing and painting two or four pre-designed Cosanti tiles with a variety of unique and colorful glazes. This experience begins at $100++ per participant.
