Cory Byrne is Director of Choirs at Mediapolis Community Schools where he teaches 9th-12th, 7th-8th, and 6th grade choirs. He is also the musical director for the fall musical and director of a newly established show choir. Prior to teaching in Mediapolis, Cory was a teacher in Fort Madison, New London, and Des Moines.
Cory earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from Morningside University, a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Northern Iowa, and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Psychology with a minor in music from the University of Iowa. He holds additional endorsements in Talented and Gifted Education and English as a Second Language.
Cory is the organist and choir director at Bethany Lutheran Church in Burlington and maintains an active performance schedule as an accompanist. He sings tenor in Bel Canto Chorale and performs annually with the Treble Clef Club of Burlington and Burlington Organists Network.
