Cornwall Street Art & Food Festival
Saturday, September 19, 2026
Lamoureux Park | Cornwall Waterfront
Hosted by the Eastern Ontario Garlic Festival and produced by Kozroots Community Empowerment Projects, we are excited to launch the First Annual Cornwall Street Art & Food Festival.
This event was born from conversations with friends of Lee Theodore following his death and from a shared desire to create something that reflects the way Lee lived — bringing people together, creating space for dialogue, encouraging creativity, supporting community, and helping people get to know one another while building something meaningful together.
On September 19th, Lamoureux Park will become a gathering place for street artists, musicians, dancers, spoken word artists, creatives, community builders, young people, families, foodies, chefs, and anyone looking for a place to connect, express, learn, share, and belong.
Throughout the day, you’ll experience live street art, community graffiti, music, dance, spoken word, food, workshops, conversations, and opportunities to participate rather than simply observe. We are inviting artists, facilitators, organizations, and community members to bring forward ideas, activities, discussions, demonstrations, and experiences that encourage creativity, connection, innovation, expression, and community building. Let’s not forget the food. This year with the construct at the Civic Complex and no access to a kitchen we are inviting Food Truck and Street Food Vendors to keep our tastebuds tingling and our bellies full!
The theme for our inaugural year is EARTH, inspired by a graffiti piece Lee created for the River Institute. Earth reminds us that we all share this planet, this community, and this moment in time. It invites us to consider the footprint we are living today and the legacy we leave behind tomorrow. It reminds us that caring for one another and caring for the environment are not separate ideas, but part of the same responsibility we share.
We recognize that these are challenging times. Many people are searching for connection, belonging, purpose, understanding, and opportunities to contribute. This festival is intended to be a welcoming and respectful space where people can express themselves through art, movement, music, storytelling, conversation, learning, and collaboration.
Whether you’re a graffiti artist, musician, dancer, spoken word performer, workshop facilitator, community organization, youth leader, educator, entrepreneur, activist, neighbour, or simply someone who wants to spend the day among good people, you are invited.
We’re looking for people who want to lead the way, support the way, or simply participate in ways that feel meaningful, safe, and authentic to them.
As with all Kozroots Community Empowerment Projects initiatives, we believe the greatest currency is human capacity. The ideas, talents, stories, skills, and experiences that each person brings are what create strong communities and lasting change.
This event belongs to the community. It will become what we create together.
Come create.
Come share.
Come learn.
Come connect.
Most importantly, come as you are.
Applications for artists, performers, facilitators, and community participants, food vendors will open on the Saturday, June 20th. Details to follow.
Together, let’s create a space where everyone has an opportunity to belong and share what we are made of..
