We will have Spanish Wine Importer Marta Plana with us. You’ll recognize some of her wines from the store previously: Matsu Tempranillo, Bardos Verdejo, and La Sueca Sangria to name a few. For this dinner we are certain to feature some great Spanish food and the wines to go with it.Marta Plana, founder of this young company, is originally from Catalonia, born and raised in a small coastal town just south of Barcelona, in the Penedes area. She has been working in the wine industry for over 20 years, working hand-in-hand with wineries from all over Spain. For the past 15 years, she focused on the US market where she learned and experienced the importance of consistency, coherence and also the “road to market,” defining goals that are instrumental in the success of any wine brand that wants to offer something unique to the United States.
Gildas – a skewer of Castelvetrano olive, pickled guindilla peppers, olive oil anchovy
Persian cucumber salad with white garlic sauce and almonds
Gambas al ajillo – olive oil shrimp with garlic and parsley
Espinacas con garbanzos – Spanish stewed chickpeas with breadcrumb, tomato, chicken stock, aromatic spices, sherry vinegar and wilted spinach
Albondigas with mushrooms and patatas bravas - Pork and Wagyu Beef garlic meatballs with locally foraged hen of the woods mushrooms, in a brandied sauce with olive oil fried potatoes
Espresso Chocolate Flan with Whipped Heavy Cream
