Co(reo)imagining/Choreographing the Impossible
About this Event
On the occasion of the publication of Co(reo)imaginar: ensaios com a dança e a performance (2011-2023) (Edições do Saguão, 2026) by André Lepecki (Performance Studies, Tisch), the book becomes an excuse for a broader conversation between the author and the Brazilian curator and scholar Diane Lima (Dept. of Spanish and Portugese, Arts & Science), particularly on the convergence between Lepecki’s notion of “coreoimagination” and Lima's notion of "choreographing the impossible." Issues of art and movement, of life and movement, of the political-affective power of co-imagining, co-curating, and co-choreographing the impossible in contemporary art are some of the topics for this informal conversation.
