Discovering Humanity Part III: My Ephemeral Life - Camie Rigirozzi
Camie is in love with the Imperfect Whole depicted in the wonky circle. The revelation of letting go creates an empty hole but grasping reassurance is a confession of the empty hole. The empty hole is the space between the greatness we think we should be and the less than perfect we find in ourselves. The Imperfect Whole is who we are.
In this show bits and pieces of Camie’s art are gathered and reused in another context. Her present work preserves parts of her experience and releases what she has made peace with in acknowledgement of her empty hole. Edges of curved forms are not sharp and emotions tumbled in the consciousness lose their rough edges. Round and round the canvas fitting pieces into space she covers past emotions until one large Imperfect Whole connects the fragments.
“Surrounded by the wonky circles my Imperfect Whole feels safe and supported. I can be a wonky circle finding comfort with my Imperfect Whole. Viewers who have seen my past shows might recognise some of the work and I invite them to see it now. When people view this work I hope they can feel the ecstasy of letting go of judgement embracing acceptance and making peace with their own Imperfect Whole.”
Jugando en Serio (Playing Seriously) - Percy Cardona
Percy Cardona creates large abstract paintings and sculptures characterized by a chaotic and dissonant sensibility. Through the interplay of clashing colors forms and freehand painting his work captures a sense of disorder and harmony.
Percy’s affinity for repurposed materials stems from their inherent plasticity and form. These elements are reimagined and transformed within his pieces to transcend their original functions offering new meanings and interpretations. This approach is prominently reflected in his sculptures which include both freestanding and wall-mounted creations.
Percy’s sculptures are characterized by large reflective diagonal elements juxtaposed with delicate linear components. This combination serves to engage the viewer inviting them to seek connections with art history and their own emotional experiences. The work generates a sensual interwoven and multi-layered matrix creating a dynamic and immersive visual journey.
“My paintings can be perceived as bold geometric experiments where lines and shapes engage in a complex dance. The interplay between these elements challenges the viewer to navigate the numerous shifts in line form figure and ground.
The linear compositions within my paintings act as triggers stimulating the brain to discern patterns and the heart to experience emotions. By weaving together these cognitive and emotional responses the works offer a profound and multifaceted encounter for the viewer.”
In essence Percy’s artistic creations stand as a testament to the power of abstract art to evoke thought emotion and new perspectives. Through the fusion of repurposed materials reflective elements and geometric experimentation Percy aims to craft a visual experience that is both challenging and rewarding for those who engage with it.
The Core Annex will feature:
Momentary Chaos – Elija Kane
Elija Kane breathes life into a kaleidoscope of forms and textures. Her work is a conversation with nature a reverence for the human form and a dialogue with the mythic and the mundane. Guided by the rhythms of the world around her and the ever-evolving state of society Elija’s art is a testament to the beauty and disorder of existence.
Elija’s commitment to sustainability is woven in the very fabric of her creative process. She embraces second-hand and upcycled materials finding stories in discarded items and giving them new purpose. Her work is not merely an artistic expression but an ecological statement a gentle protest against waste and celebration of renewal.
Her mediums are as varied as her inspirations. From the fluid strokes of paint that capture the ephemeral beauty of nature and the human form to the intricate stitches of fabric to the clay from our earth. Each piece is a tapestry of emotion history and a vision for a more mindful future.
Elija Kane’s art invites you to pause reflect and connect. With a heartfelt reminder of our collective responsibility to the world we inhabit and to each other. As you explore her work you are not just a spectator but a participant in a larger narrative one that seeks to find harmony amongst the burning of our planet and the uncertainty of our future.
We are and this is but a momentary Chaos.
