Nashville’s cosmic Americana torchbearers Cordovas are heading to Australia for the very first time this spring, bringing their electrifying live show to stages across the country.
Led by the enigmatic Joe Firstman, Cordovas have built a devoted following across the U.S. and Europe for their mix of heartfelt songwriting, vintage Southern rock swagger, and deeply philosophical storytelling. With a lineup anchored by Argentine guitar virtuoso Lucca Soria, the band has become known for its transportive performances — equal parts jam session, sermon, and rock 'n' roll revival.
Now, Australian fans will finally get to experience the band Rolling Stone has called “a timeless American sound with a modern spiritual core.”
Cordovas explore themes of rebirth, connection, and the redemptive power of music. Songs like “Fallen Angels of Rock ’n’ Roll” and “High Roller” channel the wild freedom of classic American rock while tapping into deeper truths about love, loss, and the road to self-discovery.
Frontman Firstman’s journey has been anything but ordinary — from major label wunderkind and late-night TV bandleader (NBC’s Last Call with Carson Daly) to Baja mystic and backwoods philosopher. That lived experience pulses through every note of their latest album The Rose of Aces, recorded between the band’s Nashville compound and their artist refuge in Todos Santos, Mexico.
Cordovas’ rootsy, expansive sound evokes legends like The Band, the Allman Brothers, and the Grateful Dead — but with a distinctly modern perspective, shaped by years of travel, transformation, and transcendence.
