Canadian troubadour Corb Lund is known for his unique fusion of cowboy poetry, folk, and indie sounds. Raised on Alberta’s prairies by generations of ranchers, Lund channels his Western roots into vivid, character-driven songs. His latest album, El Viejo, pays tribute to his late mentor Ian Tyson, embracing stripped-down acoustic arrangements that highlight his storytelling prowess. Recorded live in his living room, the album reflects Lund’s deep respect for the traditions of cowboy music and its enduring cultural connections.
Hayes Carll, a Grammy-nominated Texan, has spent over two decades crafting poignant songs that balance sharp humor with emotional depth. Influenced by John Prine, Tom Waits, andRandy Travis, Carll’s music explores messy relationships, human frailty, and moments of unexpected grace. His latest album, You Get It All, features tracks like “Help Me Remember,” a haunting portrait of dementia, and “Nice Things,” a wry critique of humanity’s flaws. Produced by Allison Moorer and Kenny Greenberg, the album showcases Carll’s gift for blending laughter and heartache in equal measure.
