Course Objectives
At the end of the course, participants will be able to: 1. Identify 66 commonly-sighted marine fishes 2. Use regional guide books and apps as reference tools 3. Use an underwater slate to record sightings 4. Understand the purpose of the Volunteer Fish Survey Project and how divers can take an active role in this ongoing marine life monitoring program
REEF Fish Identification Quiz The Fish Identification Quiz is designed to show both you and your students how much they have learned during the course. There are five Experience Levels available for REEF surveyors. When you become a REEF member, you are automatically Experience Level 1. Any students who pass the 25-question quiz with a score of 80% or higher and conduct two surveys can reach REEF Experience Level 2. (Surveys may be conducted before or after the quiz).
