About this Event
Spend the day creating Collage and Riso prints, using archive materials, photographs and prints from the 1890 - mid 1920’s.
We'll be exploring the life and work of Karel Klíč, a pioneer in photogravure, who developed a method of reproducing high quality images, which brought art to the masses after joining forces with the Storey Brothers.
Collage artist Rosie-Tacon-Glass and Riso printer Charlotte Done will lead you through the creative processes and printing with the Risograph, recreating local stories visually and with a modern twist.
While Photogravure is a photo-mechanical process, used to reproduce detailed continuous tones of a photograph, Riso printing uses a risograph duplicating machine.
The Riso printer works in a similar way to screen printing it's a fun and quick way to scan & print, using non-toxic vibrant inks.
Age - 18 + (Under 18 will need an adult to attend)
No experience necessary - All materials are provided - wear suitable clothing for glueing and printing.
Bring a packed lunch for a 45 min break
