ShedFest 2025 – Celebrate Men’s Sheds Across the UK!

Join us for ShedFest 2025, the UK Men’s Sheds Association’s annual celebration of Sheds and Shedders nationwide.
Keynote from Stuart Robinson MBE, Paralympic gold medallist in wheelchair rugby and two-time Invictus Games champion.
Live demonstrations include:
- Wood turning - Christopher Warwick Fisher, RPT – 6th Lord Kyte Harwick of Warwickshire AKA, The Blind Woodturner
- Metalcraft
- Pole lathe
- Coracle making
- Pyrography
This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever, with:
- A buzzing exhibition hall
- Live demonstrations for hands-on inspiration and practical advice.
- Talks, tips, and Shed banter – connect with Shedders from across the UK.
- Gun stocks available free to ShedFest visitors. Prized by Shedders for their high-quality wood, 80 gun stocks have have been kindly donated by Hampshire Police.
- Creative competitions – bring your Shed-made creations
Plus an exclusive performance of Shed Stories from Casson & Friends, inspired by interviews with Shedders of all ages. The show will combine compelling movement with human, humorous and heart-warming tales of making sawdust, friends, and cups of tea!
Prizes for:
The Great Shed Sign-Off (Team or Individual)
Challenge: Create a hand-crafted shed sign — either for your own Shed or a fictional one.
Skills: Wood carving, painting, pyrography, typography.
Criteria: Craftsmanship, creativity, character.
Transportable: Max size suggestion 70cm width.
Shed Life Photography (Individual)
Challenge: Submit a photo (or short series of 2–3) that captures the essence of “Life in a Men’s Shed.”
Skills: Photography, storytelling.
Criteria: Authenticity, storytelling, creativity, visual composition.
Printed entries: Bring a mounted or framed photo (A4 or smaller) to the event.
Categories: Optionally include a category for “funniest photo” or “best candid shot.”
The Shed Spirit Trophy (Team or Individual)
Challenge: Make a small trophy or sculptural piece that represents “The Spirit of a Men’s Shed.”
Skills: Woodworking, metalwork, mixed media, repurposed parts.
Criteria: Creativity, use of recycled materials, craftsmanship, and how well it expresses Shed culture.
Transportable: Max size guideline e.g. 30cm x 30cm x 30cm.
Optional twist: Incorporate at least one surprising material (e.g. a found object).
In the afternoon, we’ll also host the UKMSA Annual General Meeting (AGM) as part of the day's programme.
This is your chance to get inspired, share ideas, and be part of the growing Shed movement. Whether you're a seasoned Shedder or just curious, everyone’s welcome.

Info: Stuart Robinson MBE, is a Paralympic gold medallist in wheelchair rugby and two-time Invictus Games champion. A former RAF gunner, Stuart turned personal adversity into triumph, becoming a leading figure in international wheelchair rugby after losing both legs in an IED explosion in Afghanistan in 2013.Stuart is an inspiring public speaker and ambassador for The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.
