Canning 101 with Chef Queenie
Join us for a fun and informative workshop on the art of canning with the one and only Chef Queenie! Learn how to preserve your favorite fruits and veggies to enjoy all year round. Chef Queenie will share her expert tips and tricks for successful canning. This in-person event will take place at 4517 Hamilton Ave. Don't miss out on this opportunity to become a canning pro!

Welcome & Introduction
Info: Please arrive on time so they we can make sure we can all leave by 1:00pm so canning jars have a chance to cool.
🕑: 10:30 AM - 10:45 AM
Canning 101 Slide show/ Quiz to follow
Info: we will go over the basic safety and equipment and discuss recipes
🕑: 10:45 AM - 11:30 AM
Prepping the Veggies/Fruit/Sauces in canning jars
Info: We will be adding our ingredients to the mason jars. You will label your jars and season them to your liking. You will have several ingredients to flavor your jars. This may vary based on fresh products available.
🕑: 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Canning Process/Cleaning
Info: once jars have been cleaned and sealed this will be the time for us to water bath the canned goods. Please note that this process will be done by the Chef/Staff on duty. You will have the opportunity to practice away from the stove.
🕑: 12:00 PM - 01:00 PM
Cooling Jars/Cleaning/Receive Certificate
Info: You are more than welcome to leave your canned jars and pick up the following day. All canned items left must be picked up that week or they will be donated to the community.
