About this Event

The Human Connection of Sister Cities

Join us for an inspiring exploration of the global bonds that bring our world a little closer to home. It goes beyond simple geography to celebrate the legacy of the Upland Sister City program and the deep-rooted human connection it fosters. Upland, California, maintains two official sister cities to foster international relationships, cultural exchange, and economic cooperation: Mildura, Australia, and Caborca, Mexico. From our historic irrigation parallels with the Australian "Sunraysia" to our shared regional ties with Mexico, this talk delves into the stories of diplomacy and community that have bridged continents for decades. Discover how these international partnerships enrich our local identity and continue to create a tapestry of shared history between Upland and our neighbors across the globe.
