About Cooper Kenward
INST | SPTFY | APL | .COM
Cooper Kenward grew up in St. Helena CA, later moving to San Francisco and then finally to L.A. His knack for visual storytelling is palpable throughout his songwriting; there’s a nostalgia to the work––that unsettling yet comforting oddity that tends to interrupt almost every day, consistently bubbling under the surface.
Like a West Coast Dr. John—but more preoccupied with flying saucers than voodoo dolls—Skyway Man is in the business of opening new aural worlds, cracking open reality just enough to get the message through.
About Skyway Man

Skyway Man has built his musical identity around a stranger-than-fiction true story: as a recent college grad, he broke into a vacant motorcycle garage in a Blue Ridge Mountain town and discovered a box of letters from a man named Dr. James Cyr - a self-described spiritual channeler whose correspondence detailed alien contact, cosmic philosophy, and the dawn of a new planetary era. Fate eventually brought the two men together, and that encounter has haunted Wallace's work ever since. His music reflects that mythology in sound - think a West Coast Dr. John more preoccupied with flying saucers than voodoo, filtering prog, blues, glam rock, swamp boogie, and future folk through a lens that's equal parts Muscle Shoals grit and East Bay psychedelia, with a polyrhythmic cinematic sensibility informed by his work on the Joe Pera TV series and the Stax-inspired Spacebomb house band.
