The Workshop
Join us for three days of pure bluegrass bliss at the Coombs Rodeo Grounds on beautiful Vancouver Island! This is a fantastic opportunity to make music with like-minded individuals, learn 3-part harmony singing, and play bluegrass instruments. All skill levels are welcome. Bring your string instrument (fiddle, guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, dobro, or even ukulele) or just come to sing!
Workshop highlights include:
- Learning the Nashville Number System
- Using a capo
- Finding the right key for your voice
- Transposing and improvising
- Singing 3-part harmony
- Reading chord charts, and more!
Each day will feature six 2-hour bluegrass workshops led by acclaimed artist Jenny Lester. In your free time, explore the world-class Qualicum Beach, visit the Parksville mini putt (just 15 minutes away), or check out the Old Country Market for international food, clothing, fun souvenirs, and goats on the roof! You can also swim in the Englishman River or visit nearby waterfalls.
