Cool Molecule and dadageek Present:
RARE FORMS: Artists In Parallel
Saturday, July 11, 2026
Opening Reception: 7:00 PM
dadaLab | 2008 Alexander Ave. ATX
Rare Forms is an evening of live performance and exhibition featuring four Austin-based artists whose work spans music, visual art, fashion, literature, film, and experimental media.
Featuring live performance and parallel works by SINE, Jonas Wilson, Curse Mackey, and King Thievery. Rare Forms will also mark the live debut of King Thievery, the new creative project from Jeff Henson and Deezie Brown.
Alongside live musical performances, the evening will include visual art, fashion, experimental film and video, and readings from published works.
Presented by Cool Molecule and dadageek, Rare Forms takes place within one of Austin's most distinctive creative spaces. Part gallery, part laboratory, and part performance venue, dadaLab provides a home for creative work that extends beyond the scope of traditional venues.
SINE Austin, Texas electronic act SINE (pronounced like "sign") was created by drummer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Rona Rougeheart. Their self-described style of "electronic boom" blends driving beats, industrial textures, sub-bass, and cinematic synthesizers into a dark and immersive sound. SINE's live performances combine electronic instrumentation, live drumming, and powerful vocals into a dynamic experience rooted in energy, atmosphere, and empowerment. Their latest album, La Mordre, was just released by Metropolis Records in 2026 and will be highlighted during this event.
JONAS WILSON Jonas Wilson is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, studio owner, record label owner, educator, and touring musician who has been an active force in the Austin music community for more than two decades. Nominated for Best Experimental Artist at the 2025 Austin Music Awards, Wilson's work spans performance, production, composition, and collaboration.
He is the producer and instrumentalist behind The Midnight Stroll with Aaron Behrens of Ghostland Observatory and spent 2021 through 2023 as lead guitarist for the acclaimed group Heartless Bastards. His performance credits include Alejandro Escovedo, Night Glitter, Chief White Lightning, My Jerusalem, Lomita, The White White Lights, Goudie, Alpha Rev, Elijah Ford and the Bloom, BP Fallon, and many others.
As a producer and engineer, Wilson has worked with artists including The Black Angels, Urban Heat, Nolan Potter's Nightmare Band, Heartless Bastards, Shakey Graves, Sumbuck, Otis Wilkins, White Lightning Company, Alex Maas, Scott H. Biram, and numerous others.
CURSE MACKEY Curse Mackey is an Austin-based musician, visual artist, and author.
A longtime participant in Austin's underground music community, he has toured heavily as a solo artist and as a member of industrial supergroup Pigface and My Life with the Thrill K*ll Kult. He has collaborated with artists including David J of Bauhaus and Love and Rockets, Clan of Xymox, and numerous artists across the worlds of post-punk, electronic, and experimental music.
His latest album, Imaginary Enemies, was released in 2025 and continues a body of work that blends dark electronic music, atmospheric songwriting, and immersive sonic environments.
Beyond music, Mackey is the author of The Sound Philosophy: An Artist’s Survival Guide and the creator of several published art and photography projects. For Rare Forms, he will present a live musical performance alongside selected paintings, projected visuals, and readings from The Sound Philosophy.
KING THIEVERY King Thievery is a genre-defying sonic collective founded by guitarist Jeff Henson, best known for his work in the Texas heavy psychedelic doom metal outfit Duel, alongside producer, creative director, and world-builder Deezie Brown.
Blending thunderous desert-rock riffs, hypnotic fuzz-drenched grooves, cinematic sound design, and experimental hip-hop production, King Thievery exists in the space between a rock band, a soundtrack project, and an evolving creative universe. Their work draws from music, visual storytelling, and world-building to create an experience that extends beyond traditional performance.
Rare Forms will mark the first live presentation of King Thievery.
Doors and artist reception at 7pm.
This project is supported in part by an Austin Live Music Fund Grant of Austin Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment.
