Welcome to a hands-on culinary adventure where you’ll learn the art of chicken fabrication and the classic French dish, Coq au Vin. This cooking class offers an immersive experience, teaching you essential skills and techniques while celebrating the rich flavors of traditional French cuisine.
Chicken Fabrication: Under the guidance of a skilled chef, you’ll start by learning the fundamental techniques of chicken fabrication. This includes breaking down a whole chicken into its various parts—breasts, thighs, drumsticks, and wings. You'll also learn how to debone, trim, and prepare the meat for cooking. This foundational skill not only enhances your cooking repertoire but also allows for more economical and versatile use of poultry.
Coq au Vin Preparation: With your freshly fabricated chicken pieces, you’ll dive into the preparation of Coq au Vin, a quintessential French dish known for its deep, comforting flavors. The chef will walk you through each step, from marinating the chicken in red wine to sautéing bacon and vegetables, and finally simmering everything together in a rich, aromatic sauce. You’ll learn the importance of building layers of flavor and how to achieve the perfect balance of ingredients.
