In our realities are moments where words fail to truly express ourselves

To express means to undress all preconceived impressions

to express means to loosen the grip on ourselves

to express is to take the plunge and be transparent, with or without reciprocation"

In “Conversing in Sound and Abstraction”, Chris Ruiz and Mia Bruce relinquish guard and allow the atmosphere, audience, and ambiance to dictate the direction of their mediums. Fully removing the usage of words and allowing the art to speak for itself. Words entail only so much of our inner mechanisms, but in abstraction within the realms of music and art, one can decipher the previously ambiguous and deceptively distorted. “Conversing in Sound and Abstraction” is a reminder that music and art are looking-glasses into the individual’s soul. In transparency, true conversation is found. Reality is taken in raw and digested in the realms of the arts that its goods may be extracted for the benefit of a community.
