Conversations in Mental Health: Supporting the Latino Community in Queens

Hosted by Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, Jr. and in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, Conversations in Mental Health is a community-centered gathering focused on uplifting and supporting the Latino community in Queens.

In partnership with 82nd St Academics and Venture House, and joined by community partners such as Voces Latinas, this event creates a welcoming and culturally responsive space to explore mental health, share experiences, and access meaningful resources.

The evening begins with dinner and networking, followed by a guided program featuring breakout group sessions for men, women, and seniors. Each session will be led by experienced mental health professionals, offering a safe environment for open dialogue, peer support, and practical tools to help manage anxiety and stress.

This event is designed to foster connection, reduce stigma, and empower individuals and families with the knowledge and support they need to prioritize their mental well-being.
