Conversations in Jazz returns on Sunday 12th July, 3pm, at St John’s Church, Watford.

Imagine is a special summer edition of Conversations in Jazz, bringing together friendship, song, improvisation and musical storytelling in the beautiful setting of St John’s Church.

For this intimate afternoon concert, singer-songwriter, Multi-instrumentalist and composer Ilario Ferrari is joined by guitarist and composer Enrico Olivanti, travelling from Germany, and Beijing-based singer Ella Hong, coming from China for this special occasion.

Ilario and Enrico’s friendship spans more than two decades, beginning in Italy and continuing across countries, projects and musical chapters. Their connection brings a special depth to the stage: a shared language built on trust, listening, humour, memory and discovery.

Enrico will also present material from his upcoming new studio album, Big Mama Society, offering the audience a glimpse into his latest musical world — rich with groove, colour, imagination and his distinctive voice as both guitarist and composer.

Ella Hong’s voice and artistry will add another colour to this international musical meeting, opening a dialogue across cultures, songs and stories.

Together, Ilario, Enrico and Ella will create an afternoon shaped by friendship, imagination and spontaneity — blending original compositions, jazz, songs in Italian, Chinese and English, improvisation and conversation.

As always, Conversations in Jazz is more than a concert: it is a space for music, stories, community and connection.
