About this Event
YWCA of NWLA is hosting conversations with those who know.
Billy Anderson, North Louisiana Organizer of Power Coalition will kick off the campaign Friday, April 10 at 1p discussing "The history and future of voting rights."
Louisiana State Representative Tammy Phelps will close us out Friday, May 1 at 1p discussing "What each of us can do to strengthen democracy."
Until Justice Just Is (UJJI) is YWCA’s annual national campaign to deepen awareness, spark conversation, and inspire collective action around the most pressing issues facing our communities.
This year’s theme — Democracy in Progress: Voting Rights at 250 — challenges us to:
- Reflect honestly on the progress made in expanding access to the ballot
- Recognize the inequities and systemic barriers that still persist
- Take meaningful steps to protect the fundamental right to vote
