The Ghazis, Sanchezes, Jacksons and Smiths are next door neighbors in the suburbs.
The audience follows the conversations of each couple as they reflect about their lives, families, pasts, futures, and…the couples next door.
The most comical conversations always seem to happen in bed!
Presented with the support of the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners.
AUDITION DATES:
Sunday, December 15th, 2024 at 7 p.m.
AND
Monday, December 16th, 2024 at 7 p.m.
Auditions will be at Carrollwood Players Theatre, 4333 Gunn Highway, Tampa, FL, 33618
PRODUCTION DATES:
February 7th - 16th, 2025
Performances are on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. Sundays at 2 p.m. Call time for all performers and crew on performance dates is 1 hour prior to showtime.
Tech Week:
February 3rd - 6th, 2025
Performers and some production volunteers/crew MUST be available for all tech week rehearsals and all performances. There are no exceptions!

IMPORTANT: If you have SIGNIFICANT conflicts between auditions and tech week, please carefully consider whether or not you are in a position to participate in this production. We are looking for performers who are AVAILABLE and COMMITTED to this production.
Please take care to complete the conflict section of this form accurately and completely. Casting and staffing decisions and rehearsal schedules are based in part on information you provide about potential conflict dates.
Rehearsals:
The exact rehearsal schedule is to be determined, but rehearsals are usually 2-3 days per week, mostly weekday nights, but there may be rehearsals on Saturdays in the daytime and/or Sundays in the evening. Weekday evening rehearsals generally begin at 7 or7:30 p.m. and can last as late as 10 p.m. (possibly later during tech week) Sunday evening rehearsals generally begin at 6 p.m. and can last as late as 10 p.m. There will be a total of approximately 25 rehearsals for this production.
The rehearsal schedule intensifies as opening night draws closer. Tech week rehearsals often run later into the evening.
No experience is necessary. All roles are open. All identities and abilities are strongly encouraged to audition for any and all roles. This is a non-paid opportunity.

Actors will be portraying married couples who will be sharing a bed at close proximity with light intimacy.

JASMINE GHAZI, Female, early-to-mid-20's, Millennials, half-Korean, and half-Dominican. Third-grade teacher. Newly married to Sione after a long-distance relationship. High sex drive.
SIONE GHAZI, Male, early-to-mid-20's, Millennials, half-Samoan, and half-Iraqi. An IT analyst. Newly married to Jasmine, lower libido than his wife.
Mr. and Mrs. Ghazi- Sione and Jasmine are newlyweds. They are both from interracial families and are in the "Millennial" generation. Sione is a nerd, and Jasmine has a "healthy" sex drive.

ANGELA JACKSON, Female, mid-40s, Black, laid back but indecisive. Married to Ramon. A third-grade teacher.
RAMON JACKSON, Male, mid-40s, Black, a worrywart. Losing his mind parenting teenagers. Married to Angela.
Mr. and Mrs. Jackson- Ramon and Angela are a black couple, in their mid-forties. They have three children. Ramon is always worrying about something. Angela is more laid back. They are both dealing with their own mid-life crisis.

SHERRY SMITH, Female, mid-60s, White, cheerful yet often grieves the past. Married to Paul for 40 years.
PAUL SMITH, Male, mid-60s, White, newly retired. Looking forward to the future. Married to Sherry for 40 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith- Paul and Sherry are a white couple in their mid-sixties. Their oldest son, Greg, is going through an awful divorce, and they often grieve the loss of their daughter, Susan, who passed away in an awful car-accident. They reflect on their past life choices and their 40 years of marriage.

MARCOS SANCHEZ, Male, mid-30s, Hispanic, overwhelmed at work and feeling neglected at home, married to Raquel, father of two young children.
RAQUEL SANCHEZ, Female, mid-30s, Hispanic, hot-headed going crazy with two young children at home, married to Marcos.
Mr. and Mrs. Sanchez- Marcos and Raquel are a Hispanic couple in their early to mid-thirties. Raquel is a hot-headed Hispanic woman who is losing her mind taking care of two small kids. Marcos is a stubborn man who is overwhelmed at work and is feeling neglected at home.

What to Prepare:
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.

Requests for video submissions will only be considered if we are unable to source sufficient talent from those auditioning in person. What to expect on your audition date:
We expect a LARGE turnout for auditions, and space is LIMITED. We regret we cannot admit any guests, companions, or observers.
Auditions begin at 7 p.m. and doors will open at 6:45 p.m. IMPORTANT information is covered at the beginning of each session, therefore it is imperative that you are prepared to begin on time. No auditioners will be admitted after 7:05 p.m.
