Join us for a powerful and intimate evening of film and conversation with director Brian Russell and star James Naughton as part of our Newtown Talks Speaker Series on February 7, 7pm at Edmond Town Hall. The evening begins with a special screening of Sit With Me While I Die, a moving new short film directed by Brian Russell and Actor and Executive Producer James Naughton. The film follows a priest, played by Naughton, as he is forced to reconcile his lifelong beliefs about suffering and faith with the realities of pain, death, and dignity at the end of life.
Following the screening, Director Brian Russell and star James Naughton will take the stage for a sit-down conversation with hosts Suzy DeYoung and Lee Shull. Together, they will discuss the making of the film, the personal experiences that inspired it, and the larger questions it raises about mortality and the topic of Medical Aid in Dying (Death with Dignity), compassion, and choice. The evening will conclude with an audience Q&A, offering attendees the opportunity to engage directly with the filmmakers and a meet and greet.
This Newtown Talks event is ideal for anyone drawn to meaningful storytelling and thoughtful dialogue. It’s a rare opportunity to experience a powerful film and then go deeper through conversation with the artists who brought it to life.
