Presented as a part of the Converge 45 triennial, Here, To you, Now curated by Lumi Tan, Men make their own history…. is a new exhibition by Portland artist and writer Ido Radon at the Center for Contemporary Art & Culture at PNCA.
Ido Radon is a Portland artist and writer whose work uses modular construction and prototyping to examine how technology and engineering organize everyday life. Her Triennial project at the Center for Contemporary Art & Culture at PNCA, Men make their own history…., is an installation of sculptural forms abstracted from the games of chess and Chutes and Ladders. Constructed from vintage Erector sets, this set of re-composable structures refers to these games’ opposing logics of strategy and chance as a way to consider the possibility of human agency. An accompanying project, ALICE, takes the form of a file server proposing flows of information after the end of the internet: a library for a future art school.
About The Artist
is an artist and writer. Her work will be included in the 2027 State of the Art survey show at Crystal Bridges Museum. In 2023, Radon was a finalist for the Seattle Art Museum Betty Bowen Award and was selected for a Mass MOCA Residency Fellowship. Radon has made solo exhibitions at Afternoon Projects, (Vancouver, BC), Air de Paris (Paris), Artspeak (Vancouver, BC), Ditch Projects (Springfield, OR), Et al. (San Francisco), ILY2 (Portland), Jupiter Woods (London), Pied-à-terre (San Francisco), Romance (Pittsburgh), and Veronica (Seattle) and shown work at Portland Institute for Contemporary Art, the Belkin Art Gallery, and the Henry Art Gallery. Her work is in the collection of the Henry Art Gallery and private collections. Radon’s work has been supported by grants from the Oregon Arts Commission, The Ford Family Foundation, New Foundation, PICA, and RACC. An autodidact, she holds an MFA from the University of British Columbia. She is the founder and director of SOCIETY, a project space for art, its discourses, and its histories.
About Here, To you, Now
Curated by Lumi Tan, the 2026 Converge 45 triennial Here, To you, Now centers on experiences that bring people together—here and now—while celebrating the meaningful temporary communities that form around art. Inspired by the writing of Portland literary icon Ursula K. Le Guin, the triennial features 28 artists and 17 new commissions that activate the city as a shared stage for discovery, dialogue, and connection.
Here, To you, Now opens across 16 venues citywide with a weekend of receptions, performances, screenings, and talks August 27–30, 2026. All exhibitions remain open through October 3, 2026, closing after that on a staggered schedule into mid December.

ABOUT LUMI TAN
Lumi Tan is an independent curator and writer based in New York City, specializing in interdisciplinary exhibitions and performances. She has been curator of the Focus section at Frieze New York since 2024 and previously served as Senior Curator at The Kitchen, New York. Recent curatorial projects include exhibitions at Performance Space New York; DOOSAN Gallery, Seoul; and Luna Luna, Los Angeles and New York. Her exhibitions, writing, awards and teaching have spanned institutions and publications internationally.
