Peter begins by gaining a clear picture of your experience, insights on your horse, and your goals. From there, he carefully assesses your horse’s current state - its confidence, focus, responsiveness, and levels of tension.
Peter identifies the specific areas that need work, then tailors exercises to help your horse gain clarity, confidence, and unity. His approach is always thoughtful, individualized, and aimed at creating sustainable results for both horse and handler.
𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝟏:𝟏 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜
Peter offers personalised one-on-one lessons at every clinic, focusing specifically on the needs of each horse and rider partnership. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced rider at the top of your game, Peter’s clinics are suitable for all levels.
All riders are welcome - no matter your discipline, experience level, or goals with horses. Peter’s approach is grounded in a deep understanding of each horse and rider, without relying on rigid methods or industrialised horsemanship. Instead, he teaches you how to think critically about the behaviours your horse is displaying, empowering you to address challenges more effectively and build a stronger partnership.
𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬:
Benalla Equestrian Centre Undercover Arena
Limited to 8 participants, this clinic promises a hands-on experience where Peter will spend a minimum of one hour with each participant and their horse each day, beginning at 8 a.m.
𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠:
Peter encourages attendees to observe, take notes, and ask questions throughout all lessons. This is a great opportunity to learn by watching others and expanding your understanding of good horsemanship.
𝐅𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞-𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠:
People that aren’t able to bring a horse to the clinic are encouraged to come and fence sit. $20 half day or $40 per day.
𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧:
$750 for the 5 days
Horse Yards: $10 open or $20 covered per night - paid on arrival
Camping: $15 non-powered or $25 powered per night - paid on arrival
Please indicate your yard and camping preferences when responding. We appreciate that some participants may also prefer to stay off site.
$150 deposit required when booking to secure your place in the clinic. Deposit refundable until Friday 15th August 2025.
Payment in full $750 required by Friday 15th August 2025.
Any participants unable to secure a space will be placed on a wait list.

A perfectionist by nature and a philosopher of good horsemanship, Peter combines theoretical knowledge with the practical wisdom gained from decades of training thousands of horses across all disciplines. His approach is rooted in the teachings of influential master trainers such as Tom Roberts, Harry Whitney, John ‘Patto’ Patterson, Steve Brady, Ross Jacobs and Mark Langley.
At his home in Cootamundra, NSW, Peter’s extensive library is a testament to his ongoing commitment to growth and learning. Works by influential figures like Tom Roberts (The Young Horse), Leslie Desmond & Bill Dorrance (True Horsemanship Through Feel), and Marty Martens (Problem Solving) are a staple of his collection. Yet, Peter’s learning never stops - he often attends clinics by esteemed trainers, eager to expand his understanding of the ‘why’ in their approach and refine his own craft.
