Charleston’s ORIGINAL ContraForce is rooted in traditional folk music and excels in musical experimentation. Fiddler Andrae Raffield, percussionist-handpan-saxophonist Joey Dorwart, and guitarist Jimi Peirano collaborate on old standards and new originals. Tom Macklin is a favorite Charleston caller.
Admission is $15 cash or check, $15.50 Venmo (@chscontra). Doors open at 7:15 and the dancing begins at 7:30 pm with a beginners' walk-through (highly recommended!).
